Jeremy Swain from Thames Reach is to chair the conference
Getting homeless people into construction jobs is the theme of a ground-breaking conference in London next month.
'Re:Building' is about overcoming barriers and creating paths to sustainable employment in the construction sector for homeless people.
The conference's objective is to elicit concrete and scheduled commitments from both construction firms and homelessness agencies.
It takes place on May 9 at the Building Centre in Store Street, London, between 10am and 4pm.
Speakers include Sir Michael Latham, chair of ConstructionSkills, and the heads of leading construction firms such as Balfour Beatty, Bovis Lend Lease, Argent, Esh Group and Costain.
The conference is organised by a coalition of CRASH, Construction Youth Trust, Thames Reach, the Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG), Homeless Link and Off the Streets and into Work (OSW).
It has attracted the sponsorship of Argent, Balfour Beatty, CLG and ConstructionSkills.
