Peckham and Borough residents who repeatedly refuse to pay their council tax are being visited by bailiffs. Southwark Council has assembled an army of 50 debt-collectors to try and recoup thousands of pounds in unpaid tax. So far the impromptu visits have resulted in £80,000 in cash being collected, including £20,000 secured under short-term arrangements.
