Over a third of the UK's landlords are planning on raising their rents this year, and 24% will raise them by more than 3% - 0.3% above the rate of inflation. According to a survey by SpareRoom.co.uk, the average rent for a double room in shared accommodation with bills included rose by 6% in 2012's final quarter to £112 per week, up £106 on the previous year.
