The housing minister, Mark Prisk, today announced a £661 million New Homes Bonus to be shared amongst England's 353 councils. Councils will receive their share of the fund over the course of the next financial year, after delivering 142,000 new homes - including 58,000 affordable properties - and bringing 13,000 long-term empty properties back into use.
