Shared ownership schemes accounted for a whopping 86% of the 10,376 properties sold by registered providers during 2011/12, according to government figures, while full ownership sales fell by nearly 30%.
According to social housing lettings data published by the Department for Communities and Local Government – the number of social sales has reduced over the last few years to around 10,000 per year, having been fairly steady for the few years previously at around 16,000-17,000 per year.
