Birmingham Business Charter for Social Responsibility

Published by Ken for Network Public Sector in Local Government and also in Housing

As a Pertemps Network Group company Network Recruitment Partnership along with specialist division Sewell & Wood were pleased to achieve Business Charter for Social Responsibility Status by Birmingham City Council. Ken Wood represented Pertemps Network at the first Charter Awards Ceremony when certificates were awarded to the first 17 qualifying organisations by Sir Albert Bore, Leader of Birmingham City Council.

The Charter is a set of guiding principles to which Birmingham City Council, the largest public authority in Europe, will adhere to and which it invites its contracted suppliers, the wider business community, other public sector bodies, and third sector organisations, to adopt.

The six principles are:

Local Employment

Buy Birmingham First

Partners in Communities

Good Employer

Green and Sustainable

Ethical Procurement

Sewell & Wood is delighted to be at the forefront of such an important initiative and encourages other Birmingham businesses to adopt the Charter.
