Scottish Local Authorities Go Mobile

25 Scottish Councils have attended a seminar to investigate mobile working technology. The Event “Scottish Local Authorities Going Mobile” took place at Microsoft in Edinburgh on 27th February and was hosted by Consilium following the success of their “Mobile Scotland 2012” event last September.
The 65 delegates learned about the challenges and benefits of implementing a mobile working strategy from Consilium’s Ciaran McClintock who has years of experience of implementing mobile projects in Local Authorities throughout Scotland. Consilium’s Maxine McMullin ran a live demonstration of TotalMobile™, the leading Mobile Working solution for Local Authorities. The event also included a presentation from Fife Council who recently began a mobile working project at enterprise level. Linda Robertson discussed why they chose a single solution (TotalMobile™) for various departments throughout the council.
Ciaran McClintock said “Local Authorities in Scotland are really pushing ahead into using the latest mobile technologies to make savings and improve the services they provide in the community. Every time we hold an event here there is always a great response. I think this is down to councils taking the lead from our customers such as Aberdeen City Council who have a very successful mobile project and Fife Council who are taking an enterprise approach”.
