Cardiff Council have selected TotalMobile™ as their Mobile Working solution to improve efficiency and service delivery across all services. Council officers will use the system on mobile devices to replace paperwork and streamline working processes, providing true mobility for the entire workforce and delivering a wide range of financial and productivity benefits.

In addition, Cardiff Council have also purchased Enterprise Scheduling solution, Opti-Time through Xmbrace in partnership with Consilium, which will be used in a wide range of services where there is a need to dynamically schedule staff or produce effective rota management, with or without the need to provide information via mobile devices

Both solutions will initially be deployed within the Authority’s Housing Repairs team, and a 2 year roadmap is currently being developed to roll out the functionality to other Departments such as Social Care and Waste Management. Further down the line, mobile workers from every department will be provided with the tools they need to better focus on providing council services rather than administrative tasks and paperwork.

Lloyd Williams of Consilium said “We are delighted that Cardiff Council has selected TotalMobile and Opti-Time to provide their Enterprise Mobile and Scheduling capability.

Cardiff Council chose TotalMobile™ and Opti-Time as they can be adapted to suit the needs of a variety of users in terms of functionality and therefore makes them uniquely suitable for implementing at enterprise level across all departments.

We have long recognised that the goal of Councils is to truly mobilise services through the introduction of systems which allow custom applications to be built which seamlessly integrate with back office systems and can be used by any officer regardless of role.

Whilst we have seen some good practise around mobile working to date, it tends to build on traditional methods such as Laptops and Mobile Phones, rather than true mobility.

The deployment or TotalMobile™ will allow Cardiff Council to go far beyond this, and when combined with the scheduling power of Opti-Time, will provide them with an exciting opportunity to deliver substantial benefits and improvements in service delivery across all Departments over the next 2 years.”
