A council tenant who filmed and photographed her neighbours and other locals without their consent has been evicted.

Sheffield County Court heard that Penny Anderson, of Ridal Avenue, Stocksbrigde, made her neighbours' lives a misery with her abusive behaviour.

She had also been abusive to staff from Sheffield Council's ALMO Sheffield Homes and members of South Yorkshire Police.

Sheffield Homes and the council requested an eviction warrant but Anderson applied to suspend it. Her application was dismissed back in April and two subsequent attempts were also dismissed later in the year.

Anderson was finally evicted this week and was ordered to pay costs for all of the council's applications, a total of £3,686.78.

Councillor Harry Harpman, Cabinet Member for Homes and Neighbourhoods, said: “Our tenants should be able to live in their homes without fear of abuse or nuisance behaviour. We will use all the legal powers at our disposal if a tenant continues to make people’s lives a misery.

“Eviction is always a last resort but we will not tolerate this kind of behaviour and will take strong action against those who choose to breach their tenancy conditions.”
