Volunteers from Stockport Action for Voluntary Youth (SAVY) teamed up with Stockport Homes to make the revamped garden at Stockport Homes’ Temporary Accommodation Scheme for women and children look amazing.

Seven young people picked up paint brushes and helped paint the new fence.

Martyn Preston, Employment Support and Volunteering Officer, Stockport Homes said, “This is yet another great project that Stockport Homes and SAVY have teamed up for. It’s amazing to see these young people want to make a difference in the community and especially at Strathclyde House, Stockport Homes’ Temporary Accommodation unit for women and children.

The gardens are looking fantastic thanks to the help SAVY offer. Last summer we teamed up to plant new flowers and shrubs in the front garden and this has come in to bloom ready for Stockport Homes’ Annual Gardening Competition. Fingers crossed for a win!.”

Vicky Bloomfield, Youth Action Officer, SAVY said, “SAVY have a great working partnership with Stockport Homes to promote and support young people to become active citizens through positive activities.”
