London, UK – 17th June, 2010 – Coactiva Intercept announced today that Denbighshire County Council has selected its Verify solution. The Council has been using the product since March and expects Intercept Verify to help speed up new claims processing, reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction
The solution applies risk modelling techniques to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit new claims, identifying potential fraud and error. It calculates a risk score for all new claims so that Local Authorities can target resources on those claims which pose the greatest risk and simplify the process for those that pose the least. Intercept Verify was developed by SunGard Public Sector in consultation with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
“Speeding up processing is important to us and we selected Coactiva Intercept's Verify solution not just because it will help significantly reduce the time it takes to ascertain eligibility of a claimant, but also because of the easy integration with our core Capita benefits system,” said Ken Jones, Head of Revenues and Benefits at Denbighshire County Council. “As well as improving customer service and helping us meet efficiency targets, Intercept Verify also has the potential to deliver considerable savings.”
“We are delighted to be supporting Denbighshire County Council and providing a solution to help change the way benefits are processed, helping the Authority to save money and speed up payment for claimants,” said Ray Fielding, CEO of Coactiva Group.
Following the acquisition of Aspiren (Company number: 4152031) by SunGard in 2007, the Aspiren business traded as a separate legal entity within the SunGard group until December 2009, at which point it was merged into SunGard Public Sector and traded as a separate business unit under SunGard Public Sector until November 2010. In November 2010 the Aspiren business was acquired by coactiva and the business resumed trading as a separate entity under coactiva ownership.
