Covalent Council customers score top marks in inaugural CAA assessments

Sevenoaks District Council and Rushcliffe Borough Council have both been found to be "performing excellently" and have been awarded the maximum score of four by the Audit Commission in the first ever CAA assessments.  Both councils use market leader Covalent to manage their corporate performance.

The overall score is made up of an assessment of how councils manage performance in services and their use of resources.

Sevenoaks DC has been named as one of the four best run and efficient councils in the country and achieved the maximum score of four in four of the five areas taken into consideration: "Managing Performance", "Overall Use of Resources", "Managing finances" and "Managing resources", and scored three for "Governing the business". This puts Sevenoaks in the top one percent of the highest performing councils nationally.

Rushcliffe is one of only four district councils to be rated as 'excellent' out of a total of 200 - putting it in the top 2% nationwide.

A significant number of Covalent council customers fared well, achieving an overall score of three, including London Borough quintet Hackney, Sutton, Barking and Dagenham, Enfield and Greenwich, Teesside duo Middlesbrough and Hartlepool, plus Medway, Salford CC, Stockport MBC, Solihull MBC and Southend on Sea Council.
