Estuary Housing Association has appointed a new chair for its board.

George Kieffer's recruitment was announced at the 4,000-home provider's AGM this week.

Mr Kieffer said: “I’m delighted to be joining Estuary Housing and I am looking forward to contributing to the success of the association.”

He is currently vice-chair of the South East Local Enterprise Partnership and is chair of both Haven Gateway Partnership and Visit Essex.

Paul Durkin, Estuary's chief executive, said: “George has an extensive banking and commercial background and brings a wealth of valuable private and public sector customer-oriented experience at non-executive level. His expertise will be vital in helping us meet the opportunities and challenges ahead.”

Mr Kieffer replaces Ken Johnson, who steps down after more than a decade on the board of management.

Estuary runs homes across Essex, Suffolk and some London boroughs.
