A London recording studio that has been used by the likes of U2 and Adele has been bought by a social landlord.

Westminster Community Homes has paid £4,950,000 for The Old Dairy in Queen's Park.

The 10,500 sq ft complex comprises a selection of brick built buildings set across 0.24 acres, including two residential apartments and 12 parking spaces. The property has the potential to be redeveloped into a residential complex.

Annabel Haan, head of residential at Colliers International, the firm that handed the sale on behalf of owners Liveprime Ltd, said: “The Old Dairy experienced high levels of interest from a number of parties, due to its prime location in the Queen’s Park area and the residential redevelopment opportunity it offers.

“Steeped in history, this former recording studio has hosted numerous global superstars and was the birth place of many hits from the likes of Adele and U2. This property is highly desirable and will continue to attract attention when redevelopment plans are announced.”

In a statement, WCH, a subsidiary of Westminster Council, said: "We are currently carrying out a development appraisal but subject to planning permission we intend to build a mixed development including affordable homes."
