Homeless woman 'camped on roundabout for months'
A group of young people will sleep rough in Cwmbran next week to raise money for a Belarus orphanage.
Next Friday's (29 August) sleep-out by 25 members of Bron Afon's Youth Forum will also raise funds for a Torfaen woman's life-changing operation.
Suzy Sorby, youth and community engagement officer, said: “We want to get as much money as possible for two very different reasons. In October the plan is to go and help out at an orphanage in Eastern Europe.
“Seven of us will volunteer to decorate the building. It is understaffed so we hope to bring fun to the children who live there and support the hard-working staff.
“Lindsay Clarke is a mum-of-three from Talywain who has Stiff Person Syndrome and half of the money we collect will go towards the campaign to raise £300,000 for her to have an operation in America.”
