Not-for-profit housing provider Four Housing has teamed up with leading repairs and maintenance provider Kier to give homes in Berwick a makeover as part of a contract worth £4.5m over three years (£1.5m per annum).
A programme of maintenance works will be carried out to homes in Berwick, with updates to roofs, doors, paving, kitchens and bathrooms, as well as electrical, heating and plumbing. Kier was selected following a procurement process assessing both cost and quality, and beat off stiff competition to be awarded the three-year contract, which will run until 2017.
David Brown, head of assets at Four Housing, commented: “We are committed to maintaining and improving our customers’ homes and are looking forward to working with Kier on this project. It represents a significant investment for Four Housing, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to providing quality homes in the Berwick area.”
Kier regional director, Mike Furze, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to work with Four Housing to provide major maintenance works to its properties. We look forward to working closely with residents and this opportunity further enhances Kier's well-established status as the country’s leading provider of public sector maintenance services.”
