European funds to make Welsh homes more energy efficient
Social landlord Coastal Housing Group has acquired a 1.5-acre site from the Welsh government for a £5.5m development.
The landlord says it will create a range of 'affordable' homes at the Swansea waterfront site.
The site, acquired by Coastal Housing for £720,000, will be the group’s third investment in the SA1 area. It has already built 69 'affordable' apartments and 79 retirement apartments.
Gareth Davies, Coastal Housing’s director of development, said: “We are extremely pleased to have another opportunity to be involved in the ongoing development at SA1. It will provide much needed homes for rent and for sale in what is becoming one of the most sought after locations in Swansea.”
SA1 is a Welsh government mixed use development which is regenerating and transforming 100 acres of land surrounding the Prince of Wales Dock with sites overlooking the River Tawe and fronting the Fabian Way gateway into the city centre.
