City West Housing Trust has appointed Mike Parkin as its new Director of Finance and IT.
Mr Parkin joins the North West housing association, which owns and manages 14,600 homes, from North Wales Police where he has worked as Director of Finance and Resource since 2007.
The 43-year-old, who is from Wirral, has worked in various roles in both the public and private sector including Wirral Metropolitan College and North Wales Newspapers. He currently sits on the board of Wirral based housing association, Magenta Living.
Mr Parkin took up the role with City West on August 1, 2014, and says his primary aim will be to build on the achievements City West has enjoyed and help ensure its continued success.
“I’m very pleased to be joining City West Housing Trust, an organisation which is ambitious and has a real passion for delivering excellent services for its customers,” said Mr Parkin, who graduated from Birmingham University with a degree in economics. “It’s a particularly exciting time for City West as it looks develop and grow. I’m very much looking forward to the challenges ahead,” he continued.

“He brings a vast amount of experience that will be crucial as we prepare our organisation to tackle the significant financial challenges that lie ahead for the sector.”
Mr Parkin replaces Paul Whitehead, who has become Director of Finance and Resource at Oldham Council’s social service organisations Oldham Care and Support and Oldham Care and Support at Home.
