Scotland gets interim director - CIH style Scotland gets interim director - CIH style

An interim director of learning and development has been appointed by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Scotland.

Catherine Lowe will take up her new role at the end of August, when current director Alan Ferguson steps down.

CIH announced earlier this year that it was creating a new role to oversee its operations in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The executive director of the national business units will be based in Edinburgh.

Recruitment for the role got underway last month and closes on 18 August.

Catherine joined CIH in April and before that spent three years as an independent housing consultant.

Her previous roles include head of the homeless partnership at Glasgow City Council, consultant manager for the Scotland office of Hacas Chapman Hendy, head of housing at Moray Council and deputy director of housing at Western Isles Council.

Catherine said: “I’m delighted to continue working for CIH and to assist with the changes taking place, focusing on continuing to deliver great products and services that deliver for housing professionals and organisations across Scotland in challenging times.”

CIH Scotland board chair Keith Anderson added: “I know Catherine has the skills and experience we need to steer CIH Scotland through a period of change and make sure we are offering the best possible support for housing professionals in Scotland.”
