£1.3m redevelopment over halfway in Nottingham for asra

A £1.3 million redevelopment of a brownfield site in the Alexandra Park area of Nottingham is now over halfway in its transformation into a brand new affordable housing scheme.
Albert Road is a development between Loughborough-based contractor and developer William Davis Ltd and asra Housing Group. Comprising 14 two and three bedroom houses for sale on a shared ownership basis, the scheme will create a courtyard of family homes with parking and gardens.
Located 1½ miles from Nottingham city centre, Albert Road is scheduled for completion in January 2015. Funding for the scheme has been provided by the Homes and Communities Agency.
Representatives from both project partners recently met on site to review progress.
Stephen Fisher, business development manager, William Davis said: "With its private location adjacent a conservation area, Albert Road is set to become a superb, small development of high quality, energy efficient homes."
Over half the properties at Albert Road will benefit from solar PV panels to take advantage of the site’s south facing aspect whilst the overall scheme is being built to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3. Its design, by Halsall Lloyd Partnership, has been influenced by the surrounding edwardian villas and art deco-style houses.
Mark Anslow, business development manager (Midlands) at asra, said: "At present, there are very few available affordable homes in this area of Nottingham so it is good to see work progressing so well on site. Albert Road has spectacular views over Nottingham as well as being in a secluded spot, so we are confident these new homes will be in high demand from local families."
