Community Gateway Association (CGA), in partnership with JVNorth, has received more than £3.1 million of grant funding from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) to help develop new housing in Preston.
The funding is part of the Homes and Communities Agency’s 2015-2018 Affordable Housing Programme and will be put towards the provision of 110 new affordable homes, including 60 properties in a ground-breaking extra care scheme for the elderly.
The properties will be CGA’s eleventh new development since March 2012, adding 278 homes to Preston’s housing stock.
Diane Bellinger, Chief Executive of Community Gateway Association said
“We are delighted to have been successful in being awarded funding by the HCA. This will allow us to continue to provide much needed affordable housing as Preston’s largest social landlord.
We are particularly pleased that we will be able to develop our second community-led housing scheme, reflecting our successful approach in the current HCA programme and CGA’s position as the foremost mutual housing association in England”
