Christine Addison has been appointed executive director for the Midlands operating area of the Homes and Communities Agency.
She starts 1 November 2014. The HCA said the appointment fills an existing vacancy and follows an open internal and external recruitment process. Addison is currently chief officer, asset management and regeneration, at Leeds City Council.
"I am delighted to be joining the HCA at a time when its investment is playing such a crucial role in driving overall housing supply and local economic growth," Addison said. "The HCA sees a clear alignment between its national programmes and locally identified priorities and I look forward to continuing to use my experience of affordable housing and major regeneration projects, gained in my hugely enjoyable time at Leeds City Council."
Richard Ennis, executive director of finance and corporate services at the HCA, said: "I am very pleased we have been able to appoint such a strong candidate. Christine has a wealth of experience and has demonstrated strong leadership skills in her time at Leeds, which will be of benefit to the HCA.
"Just last week we announced £226m of funding to deliver nearly 12,000 new affordable homes throughout the Midlands up to 2018. Aligning this funding, our growing portfolio of loans and equity investments and our public land assets with local priorities, will be Christine’s focus as we seek to create successful places with homes and jobs."
