Lyng residents flocked to enjoy some sizzling fun at a community day on the West Bromwich estate.
Lyng Community Association (LCA) organised the event, which included a barbecue, craft activities and stalls providing information about events going on over the summer.
Tenants also got the chance to meet and chat to LCA Chair Wendy Bodenham at the event, held earlier this month at the Church of the Good Shepherd and St John’s church hall.
She said: “It was nice to see so many Lyng residents of all ages – and not just LCA tenants – come along to the barbecue. It was a lovely day and everyone had a good time.”
LCA plans to hold similar community events in the future, including a family fun day on 28th October at the church.
The team has also organised a summer holiday play scheme for youngsters from the estate in August, involving a week of animal-themed arts activities, which is already fully booked.

The Lyng is currently being regenerated thanks to a multi-million pound redevelopment scheme led by LCA in partnership with Sandwell Council and house builder Barratt West Midlands.
