Blooming great cakes make £385 for cancer charity

HOUSING TRUST EMPLOYEES pulled out all the stops for the Marie Curie Cancer Care ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ and raised £385.
For just a couple of hours, Vale of Aylesbury Housing's (the Trust) headquarters was awaft with the aromas of chocolate cake, blueberry muffins and many other confections made by employees who put their baking skills to good use - raising cash to improve the lives of people coping with cancer.
The amount raised was boosted with a donation of £100 from the Housing Trust’s ‘Giving Something Back’ scheme – which supports employee fundraising by matching cash raised with up to £100.
Matthew Applegate, Chief Executive of the Vale of Aylesbury Housing, said: ‘The ‘Giving Something Back’ scheme means our employees can support the charities and causes that are important to them, our customers and the local community.’
