Grand Union Housing Group has completed its 1,000th new home since it was formed six years ago.
The Group, parent company of Aragon and MacIntyre Housing Associations and South Northants Homes, is on schedule to build around 185 homes this year.
The 1,000th home is a two bed home for shared ownership in Everton, Beds.
As a development partner with the Homes and Communities Agency, the Group last year secured its development programme beyond 2018 by raising £115m on the bond markets. The Everton scheme has benefitted from £300,000 of HCA grant under the Affordable Homes Programme (AHP).
Dave Lakin, Head of New Business and Development, said: “This is a major milestone for the Group and comes on top of the 535 new homes we had previously built through our subsidiary Aragon.
“Such is the shortage of housing across our area in Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire this still does not meet the demand for high quality affordable homes. We are committed to building homes and communities for the long term.”
The Group has already completed nearly two thirds of the new homes under the AHP and has begun work on all the 230 new homes in the first phase of the programme.
