Leading Kent social housing provider West Kent and its community development arm West Kent Extra achieved a hat trick of highly commended certificates and one outright winner at the Kent Housing Group Innovation and Excellence Awards 2014.
The housing association nominated staff in three categories at the awards, held at Oakwood House Hotel in Maidstone, and also put the Kent Furniture Partnership forward in the Excellent Partnership category.
Marion Gilchrist was nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award, Charlotte Ede was nominated for the Young Achievement Award and Mark Murrisson represented West Kent Extra’s 8- 12s Project in the Excellent Community Project Award. All three were highly commended, while the furniture partnership won the partnership award.
Darren Welch, Business Development Director of sponsors Denne Construction, part of the Bouygues partnership, presented the achievement awards.
The Kent Housing Group provides a forum for social housing organisations and includes representatives from all 12 Kent local authorities and 16 housing associations. KHG chair Tracey Kerly spoke at the event about the value that housing associations add to their communities.
