STAR Together Housing Group apprentice Kyle Catterall has added to his bulging trophy cabinet after more success at the Painting and Decorating Association Trophy Awards.

After a difficult and sometimes chaotic upbringing, Kyle, 23 from Blackburn, has blossomed in the Group's apprenticeship programme and has won several awards over the past couple years including  Skillsbuild, Dulux, Youthbuild UK and the Construction Development Alliance awards.

But now the Twin Valley Homes apprentice has won an award at the PDA Trophy awards, placing in the top two place at the awards dinner at London’s Plaisterers Hall.

It comes in the same week as Kyle's mentor, Alison Clews, won Inspirational Mentor of the Year at the Housing Heroes Award.

And Kyle was delighted with his latest success.

He said: "I'm delighted to have been placed out of all the competitors that took part. It's an honour to receive a placing for this prestigious accolade which I narrowly missed out on last year, onwards and upwards.

Steve Close, Together Housing Group Chief Executive, added: "We're really pleased with the success of our apprenticeships, and especially Kyle.

"He's surpassed our expectations in both his day job and in his success at the awards and he deserves a lot of credit for all his hard work.

“Kyle has got a clear career path in front of him as a result of our apprenticeship programme. The programme is continuing to deliver training and development opportunities across our communities in the North of England.”
