Today marks the official one hundred day countdown to Peterborough’s largest housing association’s 10th birthday and launches its celebrations.

Back on 4 October 2004, following the transfer of the City Council’s 10,000-strong housing stock, Cross Keys Homes was formed. Since then the not-for-profit housing association has worked hard to improve local communities and neighbourhoods as well as understand the needs and aspirations of their tenants to ensure they not only provide their home but also the necessary support required.

Now managing around 14 per cent of the city’s households and leading on a number of positive initiatives, including the Tackling Worklessness in Peterborough consortium, Area Panels, Working 4U and numerous community and care projects; Cross Keys Homes is preparing to enter into double figures and show how they are committed to making a positive difference not only for its residents now but for future generations to come.

To launch their celebrations and mark the official one hundred day countdown to their 10th birthday, Cross Keys Homes has today launched the first in a series of short films on its YouTube channel ( looking at how ten people's lives have been transformed thanks to their help and support.

The first short film is a touching story of a young lad who just over two years ago found himself sofa surfing. Now thankfully he has a permanent position at Cross Keys Homes as a Housing Services Advisor and a place he can call home.

Every further ten day’s countdown another short film will be released up until the housing association’s actual 10th birthday on October 4, 2014.
