The new homes in Witney Lane are completed
Sanctuary Group is celebrating the completion of 18 new homes in the village of Hampton Heath, near Malpas.
This £1.6 million scheme, part-funded by the Homes and Communities Agency, includes a mix of two, three and four bedroom family houses, all available for affordable rent, as well as a small play area for younger children.
The new homes have been built by Sanctuary’s contractors Watkin Jones Homes on land off Witney Lane in Hampton Heath, in a newly created road named Ashford Close in Edge.
The development is providing much-needed high quality family housing and to mark its completion, Sanctuary invited some of its local partners along for a tour of the newly built properties and a chance to meet some of the tenants, who are just moving into their new homes.
Mark Birkin, Development Manager for Sanctuary Group, said: “High quality affordable new homes like this are relatively rare in rural communities and we are proud to be delivering this scheme in Hampton Heath.“We’re grateful for the support from the local council for this housing development and wish all the new tenants every happiness in their new homes.”
Alison Amesbury, Senior Manager, Strategic Housing, said: “Cheshire West and Chester Council is pleased to be working with Sanctuary Group to support the delivery of new, affordable homes. I welcome the completion of these new homes in Malpas, which will provide much needed accommodation to meet the needs of people with a connection in this rural area.”
Brian Dunningham, Commercial Director at Watkin Jones Homes, added: “These new homes are built to the high quality standard associated with Watkin Jones Homes and we are pleased to have played a key role in their delivery. They are located in a lovely village in a beautiful part of the country and we hope that the new tenants, who have moved in just ahead of this year’s Rural Housing Week, enjoy living in their new homes for many years to come.”
The Witney Lane housing development is part of Sanctuary Group’s wider investment in the Chester area, a £31 million programme that will deliver a total of 230 new homes with investment from the Homes and Communities Agency.
