DCH will double its existing financial investment in communities across Devon and Cornwall to up to £2 million per year over the next five years.
DCH, formerly Devon & Cornwall Housing, manages over 20,000 homes. It's launching a new community investment strategy during Community Impact Week (2-9 June) run by the National Housing Federation.
As part of the investment, DCH will be recruiting a new director of community engagement. The development plan will see over 3,000 homes for rent, shared ownership and outright sale built across the two counties over the next five years.
The core areas will focus on "building on the current work happening in DCH’s communities such as financial inclusion, working with young people, supporting community groups, social inclusion and health & wellbeing, and will focus future investment and direct resources where they are most needed”, the grop said.
Group director Sue Coulson (photo) said: “Community investment is critical to the delivery of our vision, supporting our social purpose objectives and is a thread that runs across all areas of our business. Our longstanding and effective work on investing in communities is moving up a gear and our investment of up to £10 million over the next five years is an example of this.”
