Private landlord DWP Housing Partnership is investing £5 million in its one-acre Lorne Park Road site, close to the centre of Bournemouth.

When completed by the summer of 2015, there will be 64 self-contained apartments - made up of studio and one bedroom flats - after the demolition of the existing three large detached houses. The new units will be contained within three blocks; two of them five-storey high and one four-storey tall.

Glossbrook Builders cleared the site

Established as Dave Wells Properties in 1985, the company owns properties across Dorset and Hampshire and houses over 3,000 tenants. DWP is now seeking "a forward-thinking organisation" to take advantage of this latest development that it says will deliver high quality accommodation for the local economy.

"We believe that this is a key development in Bournemouth and it will provide 64 quality homes to rent," Dave Wells said. "We are investing many millions of pounds in developments across Bournemouth and Poole as well as overhauling our existing housing stock."
