DCH celebrates housing support industry accreditation
DCH are celebrating receiving level two standard for all areas in a leading industry assessment. The PQASSO award lasts for three years and supports DCH in delivering great customer services, endorsing the work that housing support teams do. The PQASSO qualification will also be used as a self assessment tool to aid continuous improvement.
Assessors visited DCH’s housing support teams over a series of weeks recently and recognised that all staff and volunteers displayed a passionate commitment to the organisation’s aims and objectives and that staff were prepared to go to great lengths to ensure that all customers receive the best quality service from housing support.
Kathy Gilmore, Director of Housing Support at DCH said: “This is a real achievement and now we have an award that demonstrates this to the outside world. It demonstrates DCH’s commitment to achieve exceptional outcomes from our work and provide great customer services that are at the heart of everything we do. DCH value the importance of learning from our customers to enable us to find new and better ways of working.”
In their summary of achievement, the PQASSO assessors wrote: "The organisation has strong leadership, bringing significant skills and experience to the organisation.”
The main benefit of PQASSO is to provide customers with a consistent and high quality service. Having the quality mark in place will offer an instant guarantee that DCH operate effectively, consistently and efficiently and that DCH recognise the importance of learning and improving and aiming to be better.
Sue Coulson, Director of Housing and Communities said: “Our success is testament to the fantastic services our teams consistently provide for all their clients, and evidence of the hard work that has taken place over the last year to achieve this external validation. It’s been a great motivator which will continue to drive us to continually improve our services and achieve more in the future, delivering our commitments to provide great customer service and invest in our communities.”
Phil Hutt, Chairman of DCH’s Housing Support Board said: “We are delighted that the assessors acknowledged what we have always recognised - the high standards of effort and care that housing support staff provide to our customers. We would like to express our appreciation, not just to the PQASSO project team and those who were interviewed during the assessment process, but to everyone in housing support, whose hard work and commitment make it an organisation that we're proud to be associated with.”
DCH’s leadership is consistently delivering services that make a real difference to customers and a wider positive impact on DCH’s communities has been recognised nationally through the PQASSO Level 2 Quality Mark which has been endorsed by the Charity Commission. PQASSO is the only quality standard developed for the third sector by the sector.
