The latest INMOTION event provided a thought-provoking forum for senior housing professionals to network, share best practice and pick up a few new ideas.
Since it was first launched by Xmbrace in 2007 (Xmbrace was acquired by Kirona in July 2012), the annual INMOTION event has consistently provided thought-leadership and exceptional networking opportunities for the housing sector.
Held on 29 April at the Motor Heritage Centre in Gaydon, Warwickshire, INMOTION 2014 attracted over 250 delegates from across the sector.
They were treated to three insightful headline speakers who delivered thought provoking keynote presentations.
First up was CIH President Paul Tennant, who addressed the audience on the challenges facing the housing sector. Humphrey Walters, a well-known motivational speaker among the business and world class sporting communities shared his extensive experience on why “Being the Best Matters.”
The day was rounded off by Ian Rumsam, Head of Repairs for Together Housing Group giving the perspective “Don’t Think of Cost. Think of Value.”
Over a dozen exhibitors enabled delegates to check out the latest technology innovations and services available for the sector to help them run their organisations more efficiently.
“INMOTION is a real highlight in the social housing calendar, each year we continue to attract senior housing professionals. The gathering is a hive of ideas and initiatives to help social housing organisations do more with less. Technology is a great enabler and the opportunity to meet the key players under one roof and hear from those that have tried new things is invaluable” said David Todd, director at Kirona.
“The generous selection of hosted round table discussions allowed delegates to dive right into topics that are hot for them and learn from peers. Themes ranged from mobile working and self-service to KPIs and best of breed systems which resulted in lively discussions enjoyed by all.”
“Our keynote speakers provided a true insight into the latest sector trends and forecasts drawing on their industry expertise, and Humphrey Walter’s focus on culture and inspirational leadership, made for a perfect blend and a tremendous success for the eighth year running.”
INMOTION finished on a high with the announcement of the Project of the Year Award 2014 winner, Trident Social Investment Group with their “Digital by Design” project tackling Digital Inclusion amongst residents.
A very high standard of entries was received this year and finalists are to be commended; CityWest Homes, City of York Council, Coastline Housing, Fife Council Building Services, Town & Country Housing Group.
Delegates and exhibitors alike enjoyed the event. Exhibitors comments included “we had interesting and valuable conversations,” “Paul Tennant’s presentation was excellent” and “thank you for putting on an excellent conference.” Meanwhile delegates described an “enjoyable day” with “very interesting questions coming out of the round tables.” “Great day, fantastic presentations, well worth the visit.”
