Work has begun on an exciting new Cleethorpes housing development by Shoreline Housing Partnership.

North East Lincolnshire's largest affordable housing provider is investing over £1 million in building eleven new homes on a brown field site on Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes.

The plans were approved by Councillors at a meeting on 30 January 2014 and building work is being carried out by northern Lincolnshire contractors G.S. Kelsey Limited.

The contemporary designs by Cleethorpes-based Hodson Architects include two one-bedroom apartments and nine high-quality two-bedroom homes, four of which will be available for shared ownership.

All homes on the new development will have brick facades; a car parking space and a range of environmentally friendly features designed to save energy, cut fuel bills and reduce pollution including recycling bins, low energy light fittings and water-saving measures.

With landscaped features, communal gardens and a private courtyard at the heart of the development, each home - with the exception of the flats - also has a private garden or terrace.

Shoreline chief executive Tony Bramley said: “We are extremely pleased building work has begun on our new development.

“There is an established need for one and two-bedroom affordable homes in the area for families, single people and couples, and this will help us meet local requirements.

“This is an intimate community development that will not only create new homes but improve the overall appearance of this derelict piece of land on an important entrance road into Cleethorpes.”

The development is part-funded by the Homes and Communities Agency and North East Lincolnshire Council.
