Sovini team awarded for their Customer Empowerment

The Sovini Group’s work with tenants has once again been recognised with a prestigious award. Sovini’s Customer Empowerment Team secured the ‘Excellence in Co-Regulation Award’ at the TPAS (Tenant Participation and Advisory Service) Northern Awards 2014.

They saw off competition from five other nominees, including Hull City Council, to claim the award on Friday 11 April at The Palace Hotel, Manchester. The Sovini Group will now compete with AmicusHorizon and Stafford & Rural Homes in the National TPAS Awards in Warwickshire on 10 July.

The winning submission was based around the Group’s unique empowerment strategy and framework, created and implemented by the Customer Empowerment Team. The strategy is focuses on co-regulation and consumer standards for resident involvement.

The strategy has been adopted by any partners joining the group, such as Pine Court Housing, and has already helped One Vision Housing to make efficiency savings of over £350K.

The Sovini Group has previously been accredited with TPAS Landlord Accreditation, TPAS Contractor Accreditation and the QAS-Quality Assured Scrutiny Accreditation – the first organisation to have all three.

Sovini’s Customer Empowerment Manager, Ann Owens, said: “The outcomes of all our tenant scrutiny functions are applied when setting out the strategic direction of the organisation.

“Engaging and involving residents when monitoring our performance is invaluable to improving our services. Their feedback helps to shape and improve our service delivery; offering services tenants want, while improving value for money.”

Sovini’s Customer Empowerment Team works on behalf of One Vision Housing, Pine Court Housing and Sovini Property Services, to ensure that the customers are involved at all levels of service delivery.

TPAS Acting Chief Executive Jenny Topham said: “TPAS is passionate about connecting people to achieve great communities. The judges have been inspired by the number of exceptional projects and initiatives across Northern England. The standard of submissions across the region becomes higher every year.”
