Magenta Living's Career Takeoff Magenta Living's Career Takeoff

This week, Magenta Living held its third, and most successful, Career Takeoff event at their head office in Birkenhead.

With a turnout of nearly 100 driven young people seeking a foot up the career ladder, the team at Magenta Living were well prepared to offer the right advice and support.

Held at Partnership Building to promote apprenticeships and other work opportunities for 16-24 year olds, Career Takeoff is a sequence of events organised by Magenta Living in collaboration with Connexions, Wirral Met College and the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS).

Following on from the previous events in Woodchurch and Rock Ferry, this third instalment also gave the team at Magenta Living the chance to showcase their current in-house apprenticeship vacancies. With seven positions to fill covering IT, joinery, plumbing, plastering, accountancy, administration and electrical installation, the recruitment process is now well underway - Applications are welcome here and the deadline is Friday 2nd May.

Additionally our partners showcased further vacancies in social media, hair and beauty, hospitality and construction which pay around £80-£270 per week. Advice was available on various training options, career paths and employment opportunities. Interested parties could log onto the Apprentice Vacancy website to register and apply for job with help and support from Connexions and NAS.

Sally Kew, Magenta Living Community Development Coordinator says: “Here at Magenta Living one of our main priorities is to build our community stronger by encouraging recruitment drives. This event was well received, and it was great to see the enthusiasm and positivity from local young people.  Our hope is that between the partners at the event we can help everyone who attended find their perfect destination.”

The next chapter for our Career Takeoff programme which takes place in June will involve encouraging Magenta Living’s suppliers and contractors to consider taking on a local apprentice. Call Sally Kew on 0808 100 9596 for more information.
