Family Housing Association (Birmingham) has formally joined WM Housing Group.

The 2,500-home provider’s addition to WM brings the group's total housing stock to around 30,000 units across Birmingham, Coventry, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Angela Parks, chair of Family, said: “When we invited potential partners to submit proposals to work with us we were impressed with WM Housing’s commitment.

"It was clear the Group wanted to work with us to make sure our services achieve the highest standards and to allow us to preserve the flexibility to deliver services in a way that works best for our customers.

“We are delighted to be forming the new partnership and look forward to working closely both with staff and customers in the coming months to enhance our services and strengthen our position as a housing group.”

Pat Brandum, chief executive of WM Housing Group, said: “In the last five years our group has grown quickly, partly because we operate a federated structure which recognises the particular skills and value of each individual member while delivering efficiency and quality through working together to deliver services that meet customers' needs.

"Family Housing brings a new set of skills and experience to us and I am looking forward to them becoming an important part of the team.”

Founded in 1998, the WM group consists of Herefordshire Supported Housing for Young People Project (SHYPP), Kemble Housing, Nexus Housing, Optima Community Association and Whitefriars Housing.
