Halton Housing Trust is handing over their largest general needs housing scheme to date. A total of 33 homes in Runcorn are due to be completed by the end of April.  So far 23 have been handed over and the popularity of the scheme has been proven with 22 customers signing up for their new home on the first day.

The scheme contains three two bedroom bungalows, 18 two bedroom houses and 12 three bedroom houses.  Each property has been built to an exceptional standard and complies with Code for Sustainable Homes – Level 3.  From the initial take up there is a lot of interest for these homes.

Paul Mullane, Director of Development and Investment said “I am delighted with the progress that has been made; it really does show the speed and progress that can be achieved when key partners work together.  There is a high demand for affordable housing in this area and this development provides a choice of good quality homes at affordable rents.”

“We continue to make fantastic progress in delivering high quality, affordable homes across the borough, and this new development is the latest, this will give a huge boost to the community.”

Mark Dennett, Halton Housing Trust Board Member and local Councillor for Runcorn has said; “I was delighted to visit these new homes and find out more about this investment, it was great to see customers had already moved in.  I am looking forward to the scheme moving forward in the coming months providing a diverse mix of accommodation that fully meets the needs of our customers.”

Margaret Walsh, Halton Housing Trust Customer Board Member and Runcorn resident said: “These new houses have transformed this part of Runcorn, they fit in well with the surrounding area and have great views, I particularly like the bungalows.”

The remaining homes will be available by the end of April and for further information on our homes please visit the Property Pool Plus website www.propertypoolplus.org.uk
