Multi-million pound land acquisition for The Hyde Group at Harrow on the Hill

The Hyde Group, one of London’s leading housing providers, has announced a multi-million pound land acquisition which will deliver a major new, mixed-use development in West London’s Harrow-on-the-Hill. The £9.5 million land deal marks a significant return to the London land market for the award-winning housing association.

Data released at the end of 2013 showed that only three in every 1200 homes for sale in Harrow was affordable for a working family. The Hyde Group (which won Provider of the Year at the UK Housing Awards in 2013 and which recently received the Gold standard “Investor in People” award), sees this purchase of land as a significant opportunity to make a real contribution to London’s housing crisis.

 “This development will provide much needed private, rented and affordable homes as well as associated commercial and amenity space. It will also benefit from Hyde’s award winning place-making experience, already evidenced at sites in Bermondsey and Packington. The Hyde Group intend to enter into a Joint Venture with Galliard Homes to develop the College Road site, which is well served by an existing transport hub, making the location perfect for working people and families commuting into town and will make a  significant contribution to Harrow’s regeneration strategy.
