Grand Union Housing Group (GUHG) has seen three developments shortlisted for the 2014 Central Regional LABC Building Excellence Awards.
The Conifers in Silsoe and Vickers Close in Biggleswade have both been nominated in Best Social or Affordable New Housing Development while Warren Farm in Willington is up for Best High Volume New Housing Development.
Dave Lakin, Head of New Business and Development said: “It is fantastic to see three of our schemes being singled out for praise. Being shortlisted is evidence of the quality of the Group’s development work across the area.
“We believe in delivering homes that people can afford and investing long term in these communities and all three of these developments show that. “
Vickers Close provided 19 new two and three bedroom houses and two flats, for affordable rent and shared ownership while The Conifers site saw a single storey care home demolished to make way for a two storey supported living accommodation to provide six studios, one 1 bedroom flat and communal space for people with a learning disability.
Ten two bedroom apartments and three bedroom houses in Warren Farm provided much needed affordable housing for the village.
The awards, which are being held on May 16 in Milton Keynes, celebrate building achievements across the region.
All winning projects of the regional qualifiers will automatically be shortlisted for the LABC Finals, which will take place in London on Tuesday 11 November.
