A local food bank has been able to expand thanks to a donation by Vale of Aylesbury Housing (the Trust).
Kate Russell, the Trust's Director of People and Performance, enjoyed an eye-opening tour of the Storehouse, run by Vale of Aylesbury Vineyard Church, after presenting a donation of over £600 raised by employees.
She said: "The Storehouse helps out thousands of families each year so the money is supporting a fantastic cause. Collection bins at the Trust's Fairfax House headquarters have also been relentlessly full since last autumn, with staff continuing to donate food and household items."
Marc Parfitt, Manager of the Food Storehouse, received the donation. He said: “Thank you to the Trust's employees for an extremely generous donation. Without contributions like these, we wouldn't be able to help out the 20 families that currently visit us each day. Demand for resources has more than doubled in the past year which means that were are always in need of donations.
“The contribution will be used to expand and renovate our food storage room. We're constantly busy here at the Storehouse and the extra space will help us to keep providing for those who need it most."
