A Galatia employee has reached the final of a prestigious regional award.Kathryn Murdoch has been shortlisted for Tenant Liaison Officer of the Year for the TPAS (Tenant Participation Advisory Service) Northern Awards 2014.

The awards recognise those in the social housing sector working across the north of England that deliver excellent service to tenants and go the extra mile to make a difference to the communities in which they work. Kathryn caught the judges’ attention with her dedication to tenants and personal approach to the job.

Kathryn currently works for Galatia – an Acis Willmott Dixon Partnership – to deliver a repairs service to 5,500 Acis homes in South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.

Kathryn said: “I’m so pleased to have reached the finals for the awards. My position at Galatia really is my dream job. Every job I’ve ever had has been focused on helping people, and this is central to the way that I work as a Tenant Liaison Officer. It’s my chance to make a difference in other people’s lives.”

Mark Smith, Galatia General Manager, said: “Kathryn thoroughly deserves to be a finalist for this award. She has worked incredibly hard to build relationships with the local community. The initiatives she has implemented mean that we are able to give something back to local people and I know that Kathryn has many more events planned for the future.”

Acis formed the joint venture company Galatia – An Acis Willmott Dixon Partnership with Willmott Dixon Partnerships in 2012. The company is undertaking planned improvement works, responsive repairs and empty property works, and gas servicing and repairs to Acis homes located in South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
