Cannabis farm found in property
A Magenta Living property in Fender View, Moreton was used to grow 54 cannabis plants with a street value of up to £53,000.
Clare Moore, Tenancy Enforcement Manager, said: “Karen Morrow had been a tenant of ours for almost 14 years. We received no complaints concerning anti social behaviour in all the years she was with us.”
Karen Morrow lived alone in the property but was regularly visited by her son, Patrick Scott. It was her son who was charged and sentenced to three and a half years in prison.
Magenta Living applied for possession of the property and District Judge McCullough ordered Morrow to leave her property or face eviction through bailiffs.
Clare commented, “We will not allow illegal activities to take place in our properties. When we are told of situations such as these we will take action, regardless of how a tenant has behaved in the past.”
