Sanctuary Group is developing 49 new homes at five different sites across Sutton Hill in Telford and is holding a community event to let local people know more about the housing development and the opportunities it will generate locally in terms of employment and training and community benefits.

The community event will be held on Thursday 27 March, from 3pm – 7pm at Sutton Hill Community Centre, and representatives from Sanctuary Group will be joined by construction specialist Seddon and Telford & Wrekin Council to talk about the scheme and the wider benefits it will provide.

This will include details on the housing development itself, on where and when the building work will take place and what the new homes will look like.

There will also be a chance to ask questions about renting or buying one of these new homes on a shared ownership basis.

The scheme is set to generate a number of employment, skills, training and work experience placements, and more details will be available on these, while there will also be an opportunity to discuss how Sanctuary and Seddon can support local community projects by providing manpower, equipment and materials.

Jonathon Mullins, Sanctuary’s head of development for the Midlands, said: “This is an exciting project set to deliver a range of good quality affordable housing options within the heart of Sutton Hill.

“Sanctuary will also be working closely with Seddon to ensure that the development provides employment and training opportunities during construction, and further benefits to the local community through support with local projects, and we hope people will come along to our community event to find out more about this.”

He confirmed that everyone was welcome to attend the community event and that light refreshments would be provided.

The community event has been promoted locally through Sanctuary’s ‘What’s happening in Sutton Hill?’ posters and flyers.
