Yarlington housing group has joined forces with developers Abbotsdale Homes and construction company Brookvale to provide the first 59 units of 697 properties proposed for a site in Yeovil, Somerset.

The three businesses all operate from within one mile of the site.

Work is due for completion early next year. All of the 59 homes will be for either shared ownership or rental through Yarlington.

Yarlington chief executive Gary Orr said: "This development gives local people the chance to get on the housing ladder by providing homes that they can afford.

"Not only do Yarlington provide homes but we invest in people and neighbourhoods ensuring that those communities in which we work thrive – we are in it for the long term and look forward to helping establish a successful community at the Lufton key site."
