Spire Homes are proud to announce that their £5.7 million housing development programme in Market Harborough to provide nearly 60 new affordable homes is underway.

The housing association, which is predominantly based in East Northamptonshire and Rutland will be developing their first homes in Leicestershire across two sites in the desirable market town in a bid to help tackle growing demand for affordable housing.

A £4.4 million scheme off Farndon Road has already begun and will provide 45 affordable homes by 2016. Properties will range in size from one and two bedroom flats and maisonettes to one, two and three bedroom houses.

A second, £1.3 million development, is set to begin in April this year off Lathkill Street, bringing 14 further affordable two and three bedroom houses to the town. Both developments will have properties available for intermediate rent and shared ownership.

“We’re very excited to be delivering our first new homes in Market Harborough.” said Katy Sagoe, Director of Housing Services at Spire Homes. “Our priority is making affordable housing available to those who need it and we are pleased to have the opportunity to work in new areas to provide quality homes for local people. Having listened to what the local housing needs are, we’ve incorporated a number of different property types and are offering both below market rent and shared ownership to help people find a beautiful new home they can afford

“Our reputation for high quality homes and services is something we’re very proud of and we will be working very hard over the coming years to establish this in Market Harborough and Leicestershire.”
