AmicusHorizon is helping more Londoners into work after its fantastic Motiv8 programme launched in a new borough.
The employment support scheme is now being run in Merton following its success in Croydon, Lambeth and Lewisham.
Motiv8 helped 68 people into jobs and 81 people into training last year.
The employment support programme helps all ages into employment, education or training. It allows people to access CV writing workshops, application support, mock interviews and one-to-one mentoring.
Tom Lane, Head of Region Community Development at AmicusHorizon, said: "It’s fantastic that we’ve been able to help so many people into jobs and training and make a real difference to their lives."
Brian McCabe found employment through the Motiv8 scheme after two years unemployed. He now has a permanent role as a labourer.
Brian said: "It’s great to be back in work. I feel really appreciated."
Following the success of Motiv8, the housing provider is also helping budding entrepreneurs through its Motiv8+ programme.
Motiv8+ helps people start their own business with a mixture of formal training and one-to-one support.
Charlie Clarke is just one of its success stories. She has praised the scheme for giving her the confidence and training to start two businesses, ApprentaGas and Cee Cee Consult.
She believes there’s "no way" she’d have achieved what she has without the help of the Motiv8+ team.
Charlie, who works with her sister Lily, explained: "The course was really good and gave us the foundations of how to start the business. It covered things like the legalities of starting a company, marketing, the type of funding you can secure, how to write a business plan and cash flow."
