Two tenants are among three board members recently appointed by Muir Group Housing Association.
Janet Seymour-Kirk, a tenant of the 5,000-home provider who lives in Northallerton, has been re-appointed to the board and joins new member Susan Kearns, a tenant from Winsford.
The trio is completed by Siraz Natha, a policy advisor with the Local Government Association and a member of the Strategic Performance and Value for Money Group.
“I enjoy 'being at the coal face', hoping to help to achieve changes in policy and procedure that will enhance our residents lives in some way,” said Janet.
“Working with such caring people is a pleasure and I just wish all residents could know and see as I do, how committed to their welfare the staff and board members are.”
Susan, who previously worked for the Citizens Advice Bureau, said: “This is a chance to be actively involved with the community that I live in. I have been a resident on the Glebe Green estate in Winsford for 25 years and have first-hand knowledge of how good housing improves people's lives.
“I look forward to using my experience and knowledge to make a positive difference for the residents of Muir Housing and helping the association continue to be a successful business into the future.”
Siraz said: “Having already been involved with Muir Group I have been impressed with the values of Muir Group in terms of its commitment to its residents.
“Muir Group’s emphasis on good performance and helping tenants in terms of providing communities rather than just bricks and mortar which really appeals to me, and is something I am looking forward to supporting.”
