The dog chipping event in South Norwood was well attended
AmicusHorizon teamed up with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to offer people a free micro chipping service for their dogs.
The event at South Norwood Country Park on Saturday 18 January led to 12 dogs being micro chipped. A further 41 identity tags were engraved for free.
The aim of the event was to help reduce the number of stray and stolen dogs by ensuring any lost dog is returned to its owner.
Experts were also on hand to answer questions about training a dog and its health and wellbeing.
Briony Streets, Community Worker at AmicusHorizon, said: "It was a fantastic event and we’re delighted to have been able to promote positive pet ownership. All dogs in England will be required by law to be micro chipped by April 2016. So it was great that we were able to work with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to offer this service for free on the day."
