Leyton Orient Olympic Park stadium move 'inconceivable'
The London Legacy Development Corporation has pledged to market homes for sale on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in the UK before marketing them overseas, after a request from a member of the London Assembly.
Green Party member Darren Johnson had previously exposed a 100% private development next to the Olympic Park being marketed in East Asia.
The East Asian marketing used the phrase “no social housing!” as a selling point.
Johnson said: "This is a welcome commitment that will at least give Londoners a fairer chance of buying a home if they can afford it. We need to build homes in the Olympic Park for the benefit of Londoners, not investors from the UK or overseas.
"The Mayor should also be trying to build far more homes in Community Land Trusts, so they can be affordable to people on average incomes, and stay affordable in the future.”
